Posting less on social media and more on my own site.
After like 10 or 11 years of being on Twitter, I finally weaned myself off of it. I haven’t gone on the app in months, stopped actively using it during the election.
Now, it’s time for Meta to face the same fate. That’s a trickier one, because of how embedded the ecosystem is in the entire internet. Similar to Amazon and their web services.
I barely use Facebook anymore and I’m going to work on posting less on Instagram. I barely post on the grid as it is, but now it’s time to take the same approach to stories.
I really wish my formerly favorite social media apps weren’t run by bootlicking fascists and assholes, but here we are. This is my own personal decision and I feel good about it.
Instead of doom scrolling, I will simply go outside.
