Day 118: Shoes
What kind of shoes do you wear? Where do they lead your feet?
Shoes are the the lynchpin of my entire look. I will sometimes plan an entire outfit around what I'm wearing on my feet. This post is going to be a listicle of all the basic shoe necessities found in my closet. I know you are RIVETED.
Let's begin:
1. The Converse
It's an essential part of my shoe identity. A classic necessity for a girl who used to hang around the skate park with her "rebellious" punk friends. I have a pair of black hi-tops and a pair of black low-tops because hello? Those are the basic shoe every cute girl needs in her closet. Not that comfortable but who the fuck cares? It's an easy outfit completer!
2. The Black Boot
Ladies!!!!!!!!!! Fellas!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Other folks!!!!!!!!!! The black boot is more essential to my life than food or oxygen. I'm not exaggerating. Not even a little bit. I have 7 pairs of black boots; 3 of them are thigh high boots. Yes I have three! separate! pairs! of! thigh! high! black! boots! (I had 4 but I forced myself to donate a pair). I used to live in Ohio okay? Winter required diversification of black boots. We'll see how much I'll wear them in Vegas 🤧😢🤞🏽
3. The Gladiator Sandal
Yes, I specifically only like caged/gladiator-style sandals. I'm not a huge sandals person to be quite honest. They lack style, personality and are generally uncomfortable. If I'm gonna wear an uncomfortable shoe, it HAS to look good otherwise what the hell is the point? Anyway, yeah I love a lace-up or caged sandal. *extreme Jonathan Van Ness voice* They're giving you depth, they're giving you charisma, they're giving you a MOMENT, henny.
4. The Casual Comfy Sneaker
These types of shoes (my Vans, Nikes, Adidas, etc family) are basically my flip-flop. I live in these goddamn shoes. My style has always been mostly casual with bursts of what-the-fuck-is-that-witch-wearing when I go out on the weekends. I literally just went into my closet to see how many of these sneakers I had and I'm honestly too embarrassed to tell you the count. Let's just say 75% of my shoe closet is dedicated to this category.
5. The Oxford
This may come as a surprise to some people but I LOVE an Oxford shoe. Traditionally made for men, but women wear them better 🤷🏽♀️I only have two pairs but they're so good for work functions or when you're in the mood for a Gatsby Moment™️. I plan on getting more in different colors. Ya girl needs a black and white pair and a pink pair. Bless up.
