Day 116: All Saints

June 20, 2018 by Vanessa Young in The Writing

Choose a saint and create a poem about his or her life.

a woman of the night, she revels in delight
she races through the light, with a man on her arm
she's simultaneously condemned and praised
a doll with wicked ways
a man on a mission comes to her, to cure her, to convert her
but she is already of God, already of Him
the holy spirit gives her strength to survive
in a world that hates her, debases her
she repented for her sins, seeking solace in the desert
when she passed, the angels wept
