Day 79: Hero

April 30, 2018 by Vanessa Young in The Writing

Write a tribute to someone you regard as a hero.

Superman / Clark Kent / Kal-El has been my personal hero for a long time now. I can't remember the exact moment I decided to stan him forever, I was very young. But I definitely blame my brother for turning me into a DC comics fanatic.

Clark Kent isn't just a symbol of hope to me, he's a goal to attain. He is truth and justice. He has a fixed set of morals that guides him to be THE BEST hero in any comic book universe.

When he comes up against anti-heroes or villains disguising their true aims with "noble" deeds, he is steadfast that killing is never the answer. I love this about him. Because we humans are weak, mostly moronic, hateful, spiteful but we have the capacity to be better. And Superman reminds me of that every day.

No words I could say could ever truly capture how much he means to me but at least we have this post to commemorate it.
