Day 136: Bizarre Holiday

July 19, 2018 by Vanessa Young in The Writing

There is a bizarre holiday for any date! Look up a holiday for today’s date and create a poem in greeting card fashion or write a short story about the holiday to celebrate.

There is no "bizarre" holiday listed for today so I'm going with National Tequila Day on Tuesday, July 24th!

BEHOLD! An array of delightful spiciness in liquid form awaits you!
Silver, blanco, plata, white, platinum...
This is the purest form of Blue Agave you will ever put in your mouth.
Gold, joven, oro...
We like to call this one young and adulterated, a basic bitch that will get your drunk!

In the mood for something a little older and more chill?
Swirl a Reposado tequila neat around in your glass and kick back.
Some people like it smoother, richer and more complex...
Like an Añejo tequila that is aged like a fine, dark wine
You want something even older?
Extra Añejo tequila is ULTRA AGED. Like a superhero!

Celebrate tequila! Drink it straight! Drink it mixed!
Over ice? Or neat?
Maybe in a margarita or a paloma?
The possibilities are endless!

Happy National Tequila Day, you drunk degenerates!
