Day 94: Swinging and Sliding
Write something inspired by a playground or treehouse.
Up in the trees, away from the earth
The children flutter and sputter and generally fret
Over the state of the trees in their homewood
They watched in awe and anger as the big people built homes inside their trees
They called them treehouses, self-sustainable homes for the wealthy
But all the children saw was the death of their homewood.
"We should attack!" One said. The others agree.
Together, they create weapons from branches their trees gifted them
Whittled them to sharp points and set off to hunt the big people
As they approached from behind, they got into formation
And POUNCED on the big people
"DIE, DIE, DIE, DIE, DIE, D-"
"Excuse me, mister! What do you think you're doing?"
Billy's mom discovered he and his friends throwing sticks at the construction workers
"Get over here now!" Billy's mom yelled.
"But, moooooooom, we have a mission to fight the big people!"
She started walking over to them and the kids scattered, laughing uproariously.
All of them fled back to their own parents, still in the playground.
Billy's mom grabbed him by the ear and marched him back to the car.
"You can save the trees when you're a grown-up!"
