Choose a famous painting and write about it.

hand in hand, heart in mouth
the once fiery dirt is transformed
into a paradise.

the dust rises and falls
into the shape of a body not yet
fully formed.

hands, feet, eyes, ears, nose, lips
come to life in an impossible way,
with the breath coming last.

reaching out, looking up, the face of God
the voice of God, burns the eyes
because they were not meant to see.

almost touching, almost feeling
a sound comes from within
"what am I? who am I? where?"
