Day 46: Dirty

March 18, 2018 by Vanessa Young in The Writing

Write a poem about getting covered in mud.

squishsplashshuck
The rain turned every dirt patch ahead of them into an obstacle course of mud, worms and loose rocks.
sssshhhhhhhllliiiiick
Each step was a battle of wills between the foot and the mud.
shhhhhhhhhhhhhlop
Down she goes, nearly pulling her sister down with her.
hahahahahaha
She helps her stand back up, now they're both covered in mud.
thunkthunkthunkthunkTHWAP
She took off running, leaving her friend behind, she leaps over a fallen branch.
chhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhchchchch
The rain felt harder, faster when she ran. It was cleansing.
