Day 174: Gloves

November 29, 2018 by Vanessa Young in The Writing

Write about a pair of gloves – what kind of gloves are they? Who wears them and why?

The first hit knocked a tooth loose.
The second hit caused a beautiful spray of blood that glittered in the spotlights.
The third hit buckled his knees.
The fourth hit rendered him nearly unconscious.
He vaguely heard the crowd roar with joy.
They hated him and he
hated them.

But he was going to get back up anyway. Because that’s
what he was paid to do.
He rises on his feet, bounces backwards on the balls of his feet
only to get knocked back down again.

This time he didn’t get up.

“Names, characters, businesses, places, events, locales, and incidents are either the products of the author’s imagination or used in a fictitious manner. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental.”
