Day 53: Tear-Jerker

Watch a movie that makes you cry. Write a poem about that scene in the movie.

An enigma wrapped up in the supposed purity of closely guarded virginity
Five sisters listlessly wait in the hopes of freedom from repression
Celia can wait no longer and down down down she goes
Impaled on the gates that kept her inside.

Panic ensues and the leash gets tighter
No more school, no more friends, no more outside air
But young love (infatuation) is hard to keep down
So a mission is completed and a virgin is depleted
And the gates that slightly opened are slammed shut.

Quietly rebelling with clandestine phone calls
Befriending the watchers across the road
They weave a web and make their pact
The watchers come to roost in the hopes of true love.

But alas, that is utter bullshit.

Uh oh! Bonnie's hanging from the ceiling.

Oh no! Mary's got her head in the oven.

Yikes! Therese downed a bottle of sleeping pills.

With a smirk and one last puff of her cigarette, the carbon monoxide takes Lux away.

This isn't the watchers' story to tell. This is the story of five young girls
Who never stood a chance.
