Write about a secret you’ve kept from someone else or how you feel when you know someone is keeping a secret from you.

Every single thing I've thought of to fulfill this prompt is kind of triggering and devastating so I thought to myself, "Come ON, Vanessa. Think of a happy secret!" It took me a few minutes of staring intently at a wall but I thought of a good one!

A couple years ago, me and some friends threw a surprise birthday party for my husband and one of his friends. It was fucking awesome and hilarious and a good ass time. 

Let me tell you something, it is hard for me to keep secrets in the first place but it's even harder keeping a secret from the person you're married to, live with and whom you tell everything to. But it was a surprise for him so it made it easier to keep quiet. 

We amassed quite a crowd of people who ended up coming to the party and I was legitimately shocked that everyone kept the secret and neither dude found out. We pretended like we were just taking them for a fun dinner and then hanging out. When we arrived to our friends' place, everyone was in place and quiet with the lights out. 

Doors opened. "SURPRISE!!!" And yes, someone's whole ass was out, standing on top of a chair, greeting the birthday boys when they walked in. As is tradition.

Sometimes, secrets can be good.
